Sally Millican

A stunning new exhibition of work by Sally Millican. Sally is a woman of many skills and interests: she is a medical herbalist, a keen sailor and a bold and innovative painter.

Her interests are reflected in her art: the paintings shown are of flowers and boats. Her style in these large works is exuberant and colourful. Unrestricted by choice of medium she happily mixes gouache, inks, pastels and collage.

Sally Millican was a makeup artist for the BBC in London before moving to the tranquility of the Teifi Valley. As a practising medical herbalist she has a detailed knowledge of the plants and flowers she paints. She also spends time at sea on a schooner over fifty years old moored at Milford, and this gives her the other main inspiration for her paintings: the sea and the fishing boats full of character and colour.

She has exhibited work since 1975 throughout the country, and has recently shown at galleries including Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Theatre Mwldan and Art Matters.
